Michigan Sports Betting m2922

Sports betting in Michigan received its first hearing of 2019 in mid-September. Representative Brandt Iden’s bill calls for the legalization of sports wagering at tribal and commercial casinos. This bill came a year after Gov. Rick Snyder vetoed his prior bills.

In December 2019, a bill ed that legalized sports betting and fantasy sports in Michigan and also allowed for full online wagering within the state. In-person wagering opened at the MGM Grand Detroit in March 2020 and online betting went live in January 2021.

Michigan has over a dozen licensed online sportsbooks, including FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, ESPN BET, and others. Both retail and mobile sports betting are fully operational at all three Detroit casinos and most tribal casinos.
